Trusts Summary of Information in the Deeds - Trustees Settlors Appointors etc
How many times are we told as Accountants to "Read The Deed". Sage advice but if you have many Trust clients, how do you keep a track of the definitions within each Deed?
This spreadsheets helps you summarise the key details and definitions from each of your Trust Deeds. it will take you some time to set it up, but once done, most if not all of the details you need each year will be at your finger tips to review and update if necessary.
Each Trust has its own row with details recorded for if you have the Deed, is it signed? Is it stamped? Have you made a FTE? Have you made a IEE? Who is the Trustee, Appointor, etc etc. You can customise it any which way you want.
The great feature of this spreadsheet is that it will flag if the vesting date of a Deed is within five years of the current date. That will give you plenty of time to plan the future of the Trust with your client.
Also for NSW based Trusts, a separate tab keeps a track of the Foreign Persons Amendments that need to be made to avoid the NSW Land Tax Surcharge.
